Although Reid denied that Castro was a plus Instead, blaming the media for boosting the narrative.

Attempting to disprove the exodus of Latino voters through the Democrat Party, Reid looked to polling from leftist Mexican media organizations: “Telemundo performed a poll of Latino voters, and they prefer Democratic control of Congress 54 percent to be able to 33 percent. It’s not also close. The data doesn’t match the narrative. ”

Embracing Castro, Reid asked: “Why do you suppose that narrative is usually taking hold? ”

Castro was just as frustrated since Reid and admitted “I have been pulling my curly hair out for the last couple a few months as I have seen story following story after story that you simply mention acting as though typically the Latino vote is for some reason firmly a Republican political election now, which couldn’t end up being further from the truth because once you poll it, Latinos remain firmly Democratic. ”

Castro went on to worry that the mass media coverage of Latinos breaking the Democrat Party can become a “self-fulfilling prophecy”, and this Hispanics who don’t stick to politics regularly will “start to think, hey, okay, wow, folks are going Republican today, ” Castro worried.

JOY REID: Nevertheless that thing about plot, there is this thing that is happening in the mainstream mass media that they say, oh, mexican voters are going Republican. Like they are now a solid Republican party, because you do have some to the south Texas counties that are changing red. We opened the data. I mean there are all these polls, Latino vote changing toward Republicans. Will it happen again? NPR, Democrats are shedding Latino voters. Dallas Morning hours News, Republicans pin desire on Latino vote. And on and on. But we pulled the data. Telemundo performed a poll of Latino voters, and they prefer Democratic control of Congress 54 percent to be able to 33 percent. It’s not also close. The data doesn’t match the narrative. Why can you suppose that narrative is using hold?

JULIAN CASTRO: Plus pulling my hair for the last couple months ?nternet site have seen story after history after story that you talk about acting as though the Latino vote is somehow securely a Republican vote today, which couldn’t be farther from the truth because when you vote it, Latinos are still securely Democratic. Yes, there was movements in 2020, but they continue to are firmly Democratic. Joy’s worry is that this will become a self-fulfilling prophecy. Individuals who aren’t — that are not very political, you know, that’s not just about all they do is follow governmental policies, they start to think, hello, okay, oh, folks are proceeding Republican now.

I fear that a popularity What that assumes on the other side is very hard managing, door knocking, phone contacting, going and doing just what Beto O’Rourke and his marketing campaign and other campaigns are doing, mainly in the Rio Grande valley regarding Texas where we performed see some hemorrhaging regarding support for Democrats, in addition to making sure that folks understand what typically the stakes are and that the mexican community gets that feel that you need to keep them in the Democratic column.
