If it weren’t so absurd, this would be hilarious.
Mehdi Hazan, formerly of Al Jazeera and now of MSNBC, teed up Ilhan Omar, a well-known antisemite Democrat, to falsely accuse Donald Trump, and to wring their hands about the rise in antisemitism within America.
Eli Lake, with his tongue in cheek, tweeted: “Up Next, Vladimir Putin will speak to Mehdi regarding the importance of international laws in a nuclear-armed world.”
Hasan began the topic by abjectly mischaracterizing Trump’s tweet as having “threatened American Jews.” Contrary to popular belief, Trump’s tweet wasn’t a threat to American Jews as we noted yesterday. It was actually a plea for more support for Israel.
Ilhan began to protest Trump’s alleged use antisemitic “tropes”. She condemned Trump’s alleged charge of “dual loyalty,” which she said was against Jews. This is the woman who, in reference to American Jewish supporters, said “I want to speak about the political influence that says it is OK for people push for allegiance towards a foreign country.”
Omar has a long history of anti-Israel/antisemitic statements. She tweeted, “Israel has hypnotized all the world, may Allah awaken all the people and help them see Israel’s evil doings.”
Omar made the most famous antisemitic statement of her life, pointing directly at AIPAC, when she claimed that US support for Israel was “all about Benjamins baby”.
Omar was voted “antisemite” of the year by the Jerusalem Post in 2019 for these and other outrages.
Ilhan Omar laments the rise in antisemitism within America. Gag me with a Yarmulke!
Note: Hasan sneers about Omar being “demonized” for being antisemitic.
Mehdi hasan, who hosts MSNBC, falsely accuses Donald Trump of tweeting about American Jews. She also uses the opportunity to wrangle her hands over the rise in antisemitism within America. Sponsored in part by Pfizer, which makes Preparation H, Fidelity, Mercedes Benz, Skyrizi, and Abbott, which makes Pfizer.

MEHDI HASAN: Last question for you congresswoman. Many have demonized you in recent years as an Antisemite, especially Donald Trump and the GOP for your criticisms of Israel and Jewish groups supporting Israel. You have since regretted some of these comments and apologized. You have said that you should have been more careful with some of your past language choices.
Yet, Trump’s former president tweeted this morning, I quote: “Jews need a plan and to appreciate Israel’s strengths before it’s too late.”
This is the same guy who said that you should have resigned as a member of Congress to make your comments. What do you think of Trump’s tweet this morning? What do you think the right would say if Rashida Tlaib or you threatened American Jews in such a way? Which, of course, I don’t believe you would.
ILHAN OMAR (Yes, I mean, the hypocrisy displayed by the Republicans is blatantly obvious. They aren’t rushing to condemn the president who, as the former president, knowingly and repeatedly invoked dual loyalty. You know that harmful and dangerous tropes exist.
Antisemitism has been on the rise. It is a growing problem. We all have a responsibility for condemning it.
white supremist base —
HASAN: — Yes
OMAR: — in such language. It is very dangerous and scary. We must condemn it in all possible ways.
HASAN: Indeed. We’ll have to leave it at that. Thank you, Congresswoman Ilhan Omar for your time.
