Sunny Hostin Justifies Assassination Against ‘Hated/’Divisive Lee Zeldin

The debate between New York’s gubernatorial candidates, Kathy Hochul (D), and Lee Zeldin was also a closely watched event. ABC’s The View caught their comments on crime and Sunny Hostin, a mentally unstable host, attempted to justify an assassination attempt against Zeldin. She cited how “he’s hated”, and “divisive”.

The Zeldin bashing started with Whoopi Goldberg, co-host of the show. She was shouting about how he didn’t have a plan for fighting rising crime (while Hochul supposedly does, despite the rise under her leadership).

Lee Zeldin, what is your plan? She screamed.

After conservative co-host Alyssa Griffin offered it, Goldberg refused to listen to the plan.

Farah Griffin supported Zeldin, noting that he and his relatives were victims of the New York crime wave, which included an assassination attempt against him. “Lee Zeldin was almost stabbed while campaigning in New York. Sunny Hostin interrupted her with her justification for the attempted murder.

“Well, he’s hated. Hostin laughed. She got support from Goldberg who said: “Yeah. That is true. Hostin, the lone conservative, pushed back and called Hostin to account. But she doubled down, arguing “he is divisive.”

Farah Griffin, Goldberg’s spokesman, became furious when Farah Griffin listed the fact that Zeldin and his family were first-hand witnesses of the crime wave. He downplayed it as something that happens in New York. “No, he knows what just happened to his family ’cause it’s New York. She screamed, “That’s New York City right here.”

Farah Griffin was describing “the Senate Republican Plan” to fight crime, and the liberal “defund police” movement. Hostin started screaming insanely about how “New York” is “the safest city in the country!” Farah Griff countered by stating that she doesn’t feel safe.

HOSTIN: It has $5 billion in budget!

FARAH GRAFFIN: Do you feel like that? I don’t feel safe living in New York.

HOSTIN: The police have a budget of $5 billion!

FARAH GRAFFIN: I live in New York. New York is unsafe for me.

Joy Behar, Joy’s co-host, was offended that she told the truth. She accused Joy of being too young to understand the situation and said that she “exaggerated” the situation. You are. It was 32 years ago. She scolded, “You know, I’ve been around, there were worse crime rates than in the 80s, 70s.” “I was afraid to leave the house at times.”

Sara Haines stepped in to save the day and said that she doesn’t feel safe living in New York City. “My perception tends the to dominate the day in crime. She said that she felt less safe in New York City for the first time in a couple of years.

Haines cited statistics to show that the Council on Criminal Justice had found that 29 of America’s largest cities saw a 30% increase in crime.

Hostin claimed New York was America’s safest city and that people don’t care about broken windows. Haines responded by shouting that the New York Police Department was fabricating crime numbers because they wanted to keep $5 billion in budget.

She didn’t offer any evidence, of course.

Sandals and Procter & Gamble sponsored Hostin with lucrative sponsorships that allowed him to justify an assassination attempt on a Republican. Their contact information is linked.

WHOOPI GOLDBERG – What’s your plan, Lee Zeldin? We know that people are being stabbed. We know what’s going on. We know what’s happening. What are you going to do? “Cause, as I’m stating, she [Gov. Kathy Hochul (D), at least has a plan.

SUNNY HOSTIN : We certainly didn’t hear any plan, I don’t think.

ALYSSA FARAH GRAFIN: I’d be happy for you to hear the Republican plan.

GOLDBERG: No, no. His plan. Only him.

HOSTIN: He voted against semi-automatic weapons being banned.

JOY BEHAR: Of course, he did.

HOSTIN: Homicides are on the rise. This is what I believe most people know. I am a former prosecutor. They care about violent crime. Broken window crimes are not something they care about. They don’t really care about that as much. They care about violent crime.

FARAH GRAFIN: In New York, Lee Zeldin was almost stabbed while campaigning. Within inches of the bullet

HOSTIN: Well, he’s hated. That’s true.

GOLDBERG: Yeah. It is true.

FARAH GRAFFIN: It’s not okay. That’s horrifying.

HOSTIN: I’m not saying it’s okay. But he is – he’s divisive.

FARAH GRAFIN: This means that crime and political violence are on – A shooting took place outside his house, within 30 feet of his house. His daughters were inside the house at the time. He is well-acquainted with the crime going on.

GOLDBERG – He’s not. He’s just familiar with what just happened to his because it’s New York. It’s New York City right at the moment.

[Crosstalk, applause]

HOSTIN: New York is still the safest place in the country.

FARAH GRAFIN: Crime is a complex issue because it’s true that Republican states have the top ten — those are Republican states with the highest violent crime rates. However, all of the largest cities in those states are governed by Democratic mayors. We could pick and choose the reasons why they have the highest rates of crime.

Republicans want more funding for police and detectives. We also need to investigate why rape kit processing takes so long. We are putting more money towards that.

GOLDBERG : They voted against the money!

FARAH GRAFIN: This is the Senate Republican Plan on how to deal with violent crime.

HOSTIN: I believe the plan is fear-mongering. I do, indeed!

[Applause]

FARAH GRAFIN: This is not a response to Democrats who said “defund the Police.”

HOSTIN: New York City has — New York is one the most safest cities in America! It has a budget of $5 billion!

FARAH GRAFFIN: Do you feel like that? I don’t feel safe living in New York.

HOSTIN: The police have a budget of $5 billion!

FARAH GRAFFIN: I live in New York. New York is unsafe for me.

[Crosstalk]

BEHAR: You are very young. You are. It was 32 years ago. You know, I was there, and there were worse crimes in the 80s and 70s.

[Applause]

FARAH GRAFIN: I agree, however, we shouldn’t settle.

BEHAR: At times, I was afraid to leave my home.

FARAH GRAFIN: But we should not settle for that.

BEHAR: I am not settling for it, but I don’t exaggerate.

SARA HAINES – I think she is making some great points. I’ve repeatedly stated that I feel less safe in New York City than I did before.

HAINES: The criminal justice — In 2022, the Council on Criminal Justice conducted a study on 29 major cities. Although the crime rate is declining by a few percentages we are still seeing an increase in crime across these 29 cities, which is up 30% from before the pandemic. It explains that this is a complex issue because the statistics aren’t being processed. However, this smaller study shows that we’re way up in this country, both rural and urban.

HOSTIN: We are up 30%. This is true. However, the FBI analysis requires that you remember that police departments self-report. This has been true for years. This has never changed. If I grade myself, I always get an “A”, and that’s what’s happening right now.

New York probably won’t report all their crime statistics as they want to maintain that $5 billion budget. Why not use some of those funds to support mental health, homelessness, and education?

[Applause]

HAINES: If they don’t report basic data about arrests, then we have bigger problems.
