Twitter removes warning label after Musk intervenes and wins free speech

Musk is moving. Twitter removed a warning label from a Just the News story about ballot harvesting after Elon Musk, self-described “Chief Twit”, intervened on behalf of the news site.

The warning label appeared first on JTN Editor-in-Chief John Solomon’s account on Friday. He shared his report titled, “Democrat blows whistle about alleged ballot harvesting program, Florida opens criminal investigation.” JTN stated that Twitter applied a warning label on the post, claiming that it contained misleading content that could lead to “real-world harm.”

Solomon and Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton challenged Musk on the story’s censorship. Fitton tweeted, “Election censorship returned as @Twitter flags poll harvesting report.” @ElonMusk should immediately investigate how the company interferes in the election for the Left.

Musk replied Sunday morning, “I will investigate this.” “Twitter should not favor one side, but be fair.”

The warning was removed Monday morning.

Musk seems determined to unravel the anti-free speech bias that was started by Twitter’s previous leadership.

Over the weekend, the new Twitter owner spent a lot time responding to users’ concerns as well as pitching improvements to the platform.

Musk responded to concerns regarding the platform’s arbitrary, one-sided censorship by announcing that it would form a “content moderator council.” This council will consist of members with “widely different viewpoints.” Musk stated that “no major content decisions or account reinstatements” will be made before the council convenes.

He also suggested a plan that would allow users “select” the version of Twitter they like. “…Having the ability to choose which version of Twitter you prefer is probably better than having to watch a movie with a mature rating.
