the Best People Support Racial Discrimination // John Hinderaker

The Supreme Court heard historic arguments today on legal challenges to anti Asian race discrimination by Harvard University and the University of North Carolina. I will have more to share about that soon, but I wanted to first mention a missive that Harvard President Lawrence Bacow sent via email to its alumni this morning. You can also view the communication (signed “Larry”).

Bacow makes tired excuses for racial discrimination.

We cannot make any promises we make as individuals, for ourselves or for the world, based on narrowly defined academic distinctions. …

Harvard is not the only one to believe that we are more than our …. test scores.

Harvard seems to be a specialist in straw-man arguments. I don’t know of anyone who has suggested that “we” are only our test scores. However, one could add that test scores are what differentiate Harvard’s students from other students. Harvard opponents would simply argue that skin color should not be considered when admitting students.

What I want to concentrate on is Bacow’s assurances that all the best people will join the university to defend race discrimination.

The legal battle that we have waged, which has reached its apex today is just as important to other colleges, universities, and society as it is for us. We are supported by scholars and educators, civil rights activists, historians, and education advocates. Technology and business leaders stand with us. We stand with former military officers and the heads the nation’s service academy academies.

It is true. This is all true. Big tech, big business, the fraudulent “civil rights movement”, almost all properly credentialed intellectuals and even top military brass support Harvard. They all support discrimination based on race. They will happily throw overboard talented young people and industry leaders of exceptional talent, provided they are not of the wrong race, to fulfill a political agenda.

This is yet another reminder of the ongoing reorganization of American politics. As slavery was popular among the in-crowd in all its forms in the years leading to the Civil War’s, today’s elites won’t mind if universities continue to discriminate based on skin color forever. Opposition is not coming from the elites but from the vast majority of Americans who, through their common sense and moral compass, believe that racial discrimination in America is wrong and cannot be corrected. Let’s all hope that the Supreme Court will finally end the lies that continue race discrimination, 154 year after the 14th Amendment was passed.
