ast: Baseball & the Midterms With Henry Olsen // (Steven Hayward).
With the World Series tied at 2-2 and the mid-term elections just days away, it seemed like the perfect time to record a conversational podcast in classic format with Henry Olsen. He is the premier psephologist (trying to say that word fast just once, let alone seven times) of all things data-related to politics, as well as baseball. Although we disagree on the decision to pull a starter who was pitching a no-hitter into the seventh inning of a World Series match, Henry strongly believes that the drama-killing decision was justified.
The mid-term scene and specific polling puzzles are our main topic. Henry believes there is a Republican wave coming in general. However, whether it is medium-sized or large (or, as I present the choice to surf-literate Californians: a Mavericks size wave or a Zuma Beach sized wave) is still unknown to Henry. His detailed biennial preelection predictions will be posted at the Washington Post. His Twitter account will be the best place to get race-by-race analysis as well as early calls.
As always, you can listen here or head over the bullpen to the home team at Ricochet.
