ng Without Electricity // John Hinderaker
You’ve probably heard the joke: What did socialists use to light candles before electricity? Electricity. It is literal fact, if you live in Cuba’s socialist paradise.
Cuba’s communist Castro regime broadcast a new set propaganda pieces this week through its media apparatus. They claimed that Cuban citizens are “contented” with daily power blackouts, and offered tips on how to get the most from the three hours of electricity they receive each day.
Can you survive on just three hours of electricity per day? If you’re not poor enough, yes. Of course, nobody in Cuba owns a Tesla.
According to the Spanish-based website Diario De Cuba, Friday’s report and the outlet Cibercuba, Thursday’s, the regime broadcast interviews with Cuban women through Canal Caribe on Tuesday. Interviews with Cuban women gave tips on how to make the most of the approximately three hours of power Cuban citizens receive each day as part the regime’s electric authority to share power blackouts in an “equitable” manner.
Socialism doesn’t allow you to have electricity, but you do have all the “equity”. Excuses, too. You can also find excuses from the Castro regime.
We shouldn’t laugh at the Cubans. If we continue to pursue the reckless path of “green energy” that works intermittently and insufficiently, we will also reach the point where it is impossible to keep the lights on. We will be the ones to blame.
