cials from Maricopa County in Arizona say that 20% of voting sites are experiencing ‘hiccups’ with their tabulators
Officials in Arizona’s Maricopa County stated Tuesday that around 20% of their polling stations were having “issues with tabulation machines” just hours after Election Day polls opened.
“Unfortunately, we’ve had some problems with about 20% of these tabulators,” Bill Gates, Chairman of the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors, told Fox News.
Gates stated that there is an issue when people try to run their ballots through a tabulator but are unsuccessful because their ballots are being thrown back at them.

Gates stated that technicians were working quickly to resolve the problem.
He also said that Arizona voters don’t need to worry about whether their votes will be counted. He added that there is a “redundancy” that allows voters place their ballots in a safe box until they are counted later.
Stephen Richer, Maricopa County Recorder, stated that this will function in the same way as early voting functions. He also noted that once it has been signed verified it will be sent off to central tabulators. “This is what most Arizona counties do on Election Day.”
