ance wins the Ohio Senatorial Race for ‘Hillbilly Elegy.
JD Vance, a Republican candidate, has defeated Tim Ryan in Ohio’s Senate race.
Multiple outlets, including Decision Desk, and NBC News, projected Vance winning the race Tuesday evening.
Vance campaigned on issues such as reducing government spending, restoring America’s manufacturing base, solving America’s border crisis, putting America first and ending abortion. He quickly won the respect of conservative leaders such as Terry Schilling, President of American Principles Project.
J.D. Vance and Blake Masters,” Schilling said to The Daily Signal on Tuesday evening. “And the reason is very simple: they focused their campaigns on working families, and told voters that they had one goal: to restore the American family’s greatness. They will, with God’s help.
Ryan, who wanted to present himself as a unifying moderate, focused on Ohio’s working-class needs, voted twice for the Women’s Health Protection Act. This legislation specifically states that the right of abortion “shall never be limited or otherwise impaired.” It would have allowed abortion providers and other health professionals to decide whether a pregnancy can be considered “viable”, effectively allowing abortions at any stage.
Video taken by The Daily Wire this summer showed Ryan admitting to not discussing “culture wars” on the campaign trail, because these issues “don’t serve us very well here in Ohio.”
“You want culture wars?” I’m not your guy. Do you want an Ohio fighter? He said it in one of his first TV ads, during the general election.
Ryan stated that the Cuyahoga Democratic Women’s Caucus was keeping the message very much about economics during a March Zoom meeting. “You know, we should avoid the culture wars. They don’t serve Ohio well.”
One woman called him and asked him: “You keep mentioning, you’re not talking about the culture wars, but you know you’re referring to these bread-and butter issues for people. As a young woman in reproductive age, and someone who identifies herself as queer, I wanted to ask him: “Will you be the advocate we need on abortion rights, and the advocate we need on trans people’s human dignity, their human rights, and gay rights?”
Ryan reminded the woman that he had given a floor speech in support for the Women’s Health Protection Act, before voting for it.
He continued, “I’ve been very vocal about these other issues that were mentioned,” he said. “So you can trust me to be there fighting for the cause… I’m progressive. I will vote this way. I will support you in any way, shape, and form. You can count on my support.”
