Budd wins the North Carolina Senate Race //
Ted Budd, who represented North Carolina in Congress since 2017, will join Senate to succeed Richard Burr (a fellow Republican who is retiring from three terms).
Budd won 50.7% of the vote, compared to Cheri Beasley’s 47.1%.
Budd, 51, a Trump-endorsed candidate, championed spending cuts in his capacity as a member the House Freedom Caucus. He called lawmakers’ pork barrel project an “extravagant wastage of taxpayer dollars”
Budd, currently representing North Carolina’s 13th Congressional District is a strong advocate for strong border security. He also supported legislation to increase penalties against illegal immigrants who reenter this country after being expelled.

Budd was born on a family farm near Winston-Salem in North Carolina. He received a business degree at Appalachia State university. He also holds master’s degrees at Wake Forest University, Dallas Theological Seminary, and other universities.
He owns a gun shop in Rural Hall, North Carolina, and has spoken out against the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives’ “enacting firearm confiscation schemes” instead of focusing on criminals.
