Patty Griffin is a popular folk singer with a loyal following. In 2007, I witnessed her perform to a packed house at the Fitzgerald Theater, St. Paul. Griffin was asked by someone on the balcony to play “Rain” at the end of each number. We all prayed for “Rain” as Griffin played it for her encore. She looked up at the balcony. This song suits my mood after the midterm electoral mess. I decided to suspend the song of the day series and let Griffin speak this morning.
