ading Family Organization Endorses Jim Banks as a House Whip //
A major organization dedicated towards the preservation of the American family has supported Congressman Jim Banks as House majority whip.
Terry Schilling, American Principles Project President, stated to The Daily Signal that Speaker Pelosi and Joe Biden have waged an all out assault on American families in the past two years. “We need Republican leaders who support strong families, and who are willing fight back against the Left more than ever.”
Schilling said that “outside groups have largely stayed out of GOP Leadership Races in the past, and we can’t afford it this time,” Schilling continued. “Tom Emmer has a much higher social liberality than Barack Obama in 2008. Emmer has voted against the mainstream House Republicans on religious freedom, transgender and marriage legislation.
Emmer, Bank’s chief whip competitor, did no immediate respond to a request from The Daily Signal for comment.
Banks announced Wednesday that he will be running for the majority whip.
The American Principles Project has worked tirelessly to mainstream hot-button cultural topics such as keeping biological men out of women’s lockers and stopping irreversible transgender surgery and procedures for children.
These topics were accepted by the GOP partly thanks to the organization.
Schilling and American Principles Project described Banks “a reliable conservative who has gone great lengths to grow the party and appeal to working-class families, while countering the excesses the wake Left.”
Schilling said that Schilling “understands what time it’s”, “His efforts at RSC have been crucial as we head into 2024, and beyond.”
In a June 2021 memo , Banks, the chairman and chief executive of the Republican Study Committee, encouraged 154 of his Republican colleagues “lean into culture war”. A large portion of Republicans at the time had not yet decided whether to embrace culture issues. These issues are often seen as divisive.
Banks wrote, “My encouragement to You is, Lean into It.” “Lean into culture war.”
The Indiana congressman pointed out the rising parent-led rebellion versus woke ideology, critical race theory, and other national ideologies. He promised his colleagues: “We’re winning.”
Banks stated that there was an organic movement of parents in the country, including those in Loudoun County (Virginia), Pelham, New York, Southlake, Texas, and Bloomington, Illinois. They were fed up with the lessons being taught to their children. “As House conservatives we should be sending a message to these concerned parent: Our back is up.”
Banks also stated to The Daily Signal last February that such messaging was very effective, pointing out Glenn Youngkin’s victory over Democrat Terry McAuliffe, Virginia.
Banks maintained that “We have the moral high ground in these issues.” “Now, we see that we were absolutely correct.”
Concerned Women for America recently endorsed Banks for House majority whip.
