Joe wins // (Scott Johnson).
Yesterday’s press conference was held by President Biden to follow up on Tuesday’s midterm election results. He spoke in the same style as his youth, and took a victory lap. The transcript has been posted by the White House.
The transcript contains all the usual lies, absurdities and approximations (“obsessant,” Biden is being apop — apoc– -acop — Biden’s being extremist”) He’ll keep going.
One of the questions asked Biden’s thoughts on a possible compromise to end Russia’s war against Ukraine. We can see Biden’s mind drifting into an old man’s warp.
Q But what kinda compromise do you envision?
THE PRESIDENT (I didn’t have any). You asked the question, if I remember correctly, whether or no — what would happen if they pulled back from Fallujah after the — this. And I mean the —
Q Kherson.
THE PRESIDENT: Kherson. The — the city Kherson. They’re going to cross the river to the Russian forces on the eastern side. And I said that they will both lick their wounds and decide what they are going to do over winter. Then they will decide if they are going to compromise.
The transcript is a painful read in more than one way.
Personal note: The transcript reminds me of the horrible stroke that my father suffered in 1970, when I was returning home from college for Christmas break. After he was released from the hospital, I took him to the Mayo Clinic for an assessment. He told me about the questions that he was asked during one part of the process on the way back. He recalled that one question asked him who was president. He replied, “President Johnson”. He then added, “I had to explain that to them I would make that mistake even when my health was good.” This explanation doesn’t apply to the Biden time warp.
