p-backed Republican Eli Crane was elected to Arizona’s 2nd Congressional District, defeating the incumbent Dem. The Associated Press declared Eli Crane, a Trump-backed Republican congressional candidate in the race to represent Arizona’s second Congressional District, defeating Tom O’Halleran, a three-term Democrat. O’Halleran was one of the youngest Chicago Police Department detectives. O’Halleran was initially a Republican Congressman in the Arizona House of Representatives between 2001 and 2006, and in the Arizona State Senate from 2006 to 2009. He then quit the party in 2014 and became a Democrat. This seat he held since 2016. After serving three terms as Arizona’s 1st Congressional District Representative, the Democrat sought re-election to the newly redrawn, more competitive 2nd Congressional District against Trump-backed Republican challenger Crane. Crane, a former Navy SEAL and small-business owner in Tuscon is the pro-life, pro-second amendment Republican candidate who ran in O’Halleran’s resistance. Jim Jordan, R.Ohio in his bid for Congress. The dueling candidates were very concerned about border security. It’s a serious problem. It’s a real problem. They need help and they need this administration’s seriousness,” Crane stated to Fox News’ Brian Kilmeade, in July. He also highlighted the lack of communication by the Biden administration. “The President must have a plan. “We don’t want chaos on the border,” O’Halleran stated while joined “America’s Newsroom” in April. “We need to be able to communicate with the administration in order to understand their ideas and concepts. It is not enough that we know it; the American people also need to know. These are the people who will be directly affected in Arizona and other border States. The Cook Report referred to the congressional race in the months before the election as “Lean Republican,” giving Crane an advantage over the incumbent Democrat.
