otnote on Dr. Oz // Scott Johnson
Dr. Oz narrowly won Pennsylvania’s Republican primary by less than 1,000 votes. I lamented the result in “Oz versus Fetterman.” I blamed Trump because he gave an endorsement that, given the closeness to the race, must have pushed Oz above the rest. I thought that former Trump Treasury Under Secretary David McCormick was a better candidate than John Fetterman in Pennsylvania’s General Election.
Maggie Haberman reported last week on the impact of Trump’s midterm results. According to several people familiar, he also included Melania, his wife, in the list of those he claimed had given poor advice.
Haberman said it this way via Twitter.
Trump is furious about Mehmet Oz this morning and is blaming everyone who urged him to back Oz — including his spouse. According to people close to him, it was not her best decision.

It is worth noting that Trump, a mature man, endorsed Oz over the objections of some of his closest friends and instead went beyond endorsing and attacked Dave McCormick on the stage at a rallies.

Haberman seems to have many sources in Trump’s world, including Trump. I wouldn’t say that I know why, except that Haberman quoted Trump about her to aides during a one of their interviews with him: “I love spending time with her, she is like my psychiatrist.”
Trump took up Dr. Oz as a topic and challenged Haberman’s story via his Truth Social platform.
Maggie Hagaman, third rate reporter at the Failing NY Times, has published a fake story. I am blaming Melania, our great former First Lady, and Sean Hannity for pushing me to endorse Dr. Oz. First, Oz is a wonderful man who worked hard and was a great candidate. But, he WAS LONG IN OUR RACE before I ever Endorsed it. They had NOTHING TO DO with it, he wasn’t a ‘denier. (His mistake! I was not angry. Fake News
He is not responsible for Oz — Oz was there before Trump’s endorsement. He claims no credit for the positive impact of his endorsement in this instance. Oz was a great candidate, except for his failure to push 2020 issues. It’s all interesting reading, especially when we consider John Fetterman’s rise and the presidential campaign that lies ahead.
