It is hard to credit the smug tone and absurd gravity of the CBS New story by Catherine Herridge, “confirming” Hunter Biden’s laptop contents and authenticity. It comes nearly two years after the New York Post reported the story and revealed the deep state operation behind it. It seems a little late and a bit unnecessary.

CBS News may have helped us understand the story better than embarrassing ourselves. Why not ask CBS’s Lesley Stahl for comments? Or from the deep-state operatives who suppressed and discredit the story. Or from Politico’s editors, who treated the deep-state operation as newsworthy. Or, even better, why not give it a postmodern twist by bringing back Dan Rather to evaluate the performance of CBS News?
