ABC’s liberal procedural drama The Rookie featured a very frightening costume for Halloween. Jake Tapper, a CNN anchor trick-or-treating as himself, wore the scary costume while inserting the left’s favorite buzzwords (“patriarchy”) and “bodily autonomy”) into a random scene.
Sunday’s Halloween episode, “The Reckoning”, saw Officers Tim Bradford and Aaron Thorsen (Tru Valentino), responding to a call from a stalled vehicle. The driver is a movie director, whose werewolf prop serves as a metaphor for patriarchy’s assault upon bodily autonomy.
Thorsen: Morning. It looks like you need some assistance.
Director: I need this prop set or I’m screwed.
Thorsen: Okay. We’ll get your friend loaded up and you’ll be on the road in no time.
Director: We are grateful.
Thorsen: What do you think a P.A. is? Or…
Director: I’m a director. I am filming a short film and I lose my location within an hour.
Thorsen: That’s so cool. Can you hear her words? She is a director.
Bradford: Oh. Yeah. Okay. Help her set the sun. She is losing daylight.
Thorsen: Right. You know what? I just need a better angle.
Bradford: 7-Adam-100. Show us Code 6 at Bronson or Rosewood — stalled vehicle blocking traffic.
Thorsen: Hang on. Wait, wait. Hold on. You shouldn’t lift anything. You just had major surgery.
Director: I did. Director: I can handle that.
Bradford: I did not have major surgery. I’m fine. Three more. Alright. One, two, three. Lift. Let’s go! Push!
Thorsen: I’m pushing!
Director: Would you like me to call someone?
Both: No!
Bradford: I had back surgery, remember?
Thorsen: Oh! My leg. My leg. Oh! My knee. My knee. My knee. You good?
Bradford: Yeah.
Director: Thank You. Both of you.
Thorsen: Yeah. We are happy to assist.
Bradford: Yeah. Bradford. No. That was Siega’s task.
Thorsen: What’s your short? Like, werewolves versus zombies?
Director: The patriarchy’s assault upon bodily autonomy is represented by the lycanthrope.
Thorsen: Wow.
Wow, indeed! It’s amazing! Our right to bodily autonomy, which isn’t an official Constitutional right per say, but we’ll pretend that it is for argument’s sake), ends when we cause harm to other human beings.
Even if there are no victims, such as prostitution or riding a motorcycle while wearing a seatbelt, a woman’s bodily autonomy does not override the law. It shouldn’t apply when there is a victim, as it is in every abortion that ends the life an unborn child.
Tapper and Jack, Tapper’s son, made a cameo as trick-or treaters on the show.
John: Bye! Happy Halloween!
Celina: I have to admit that I like it better.
John: You wear everything better. That’s the truth. I didn’t agree not to compete over that.
Both: Hey!
Celina: Happy Halloween!
John: That is a great costume, young man. You too, slightly older man. I don’t think there are many Philly fans other than the Rockies.
Jake: Are you from there?
John: Uh, Foxburg, actually. I moved here a few decades ago. You look so much like the CNN guy. What is his name?
Jake Tapper
John: That’s not it.
Celina: Yes, it is. Here. Do you guys want some candy?
Jake: I’m grateful for the kind words.
Jack: Thank You.
John: Roger that.
Jake: Have a great evening.
John: Hey guys!
Celina, you too!
TV Line stated that Tapper’s cameo was “You have to love it.”
Actually, no. We don’t. The kid might be the anchor, but not the news anchor. Unless the message was to say that liberal media bias can be scary. We can now get behind this!
