On Wednesday, Joe Scarborough, MSNBC’s Morning Joe host, and Al Sharpton, PoliticsNation host, teamed up to react to Stacey Abrams’s loss in Georgia’s gubernatorial elections for the second consecutive cycle. They compared her to Moses.
Both were reacting against Symone Sanders Townsend, another MSNBC host. She said, “The work Stacey Abrams did was the reason Georgia was in play back in ’20. Was — will continue to be play for the next cycles. So sometimes you don’t get to reap the immediate rewards for yourself and that is a story black women across this country all know. But people need to stand up and give Stacey Abrams their due.”
As the studio audience erupted in applause, Sharpton, Mika Brzezinski, and co-host declared, “That’s right.”
Scarborough added, “By and the way, Moses… He led the Jews to Promised Land, but didn’t get there.”
Sharpton naturally agreed that Sharpton didn’t get there by himself, but God took care. Scarborough then interjected to affirm, “Yes He did.” Sharpton continued, “Keep reading Scripture, God said, I will bury Moses. Leave Moses alone, and let Joshua continue to work. Stacey will be rewarded. God will reward Stacey. Stacey Abrams’ work is evident whenever you see Ossoff, Warnock, and Biden in Washington.
Viewers who want to find out where the Bible says that God endorses a candidate who opposes basic voting ID laws will be disappointed.
