Biden Will Not Be Affected By Twitter Censorship Rules

Friday’s campaign event saw President Biden complain about the upcoming changes to Twitter censorship rules.

Musk’s plans to fairly implement the platform’s content moderation rules is something that the president seems not to be happy about.

POLITICO reported Biden saying that Twitter was “an outfit that spews lies across the globe.”

NewsBusters reported Musk’s statement last week that Twitter’s new content moderator team would be made up of “widely varied” viewpoints.

Musk tweeted, “Twitter will be forming content moderation councils with widely varied viewpoints.” “No major content decisions will be made or account reinstatements will take place before that council convenes.”

It’s long past time for changes to the platform’s content moderation rules.

The rules were overwhelmingly in favor of Biden and the other Democrats who ran for the presidency in 2020.

MRC Free Speech America published in April its report on 646 cases in its CensorTrack database. It covers pro-Biden censorship from March 10, 2020 to March 10, 2022.

MRC also found out that Big Tech’s censorship in New York Post stories about the Hunter Biden laptop played a significant role in the 2020 presidential election.

Biden could also be worried about the potential public disclosure of the extent of the administration’s reported collusion in Big Tech social media platforms.

NewsBusters reported that a federal court ordered depositions of key officials from the Biden administration in a lawsuit in which Facebook and Twitter were accused of censoring certain COVID-19 content to stop the spread of misinformation.

Eric Schmitt, Missouri Attorney General, stated in a press release that the depositions will “force these officials [to come clean to] the American people.”

He said that he had found evidence of a collusion between the Biden Administration (and social media companies) to censor free speech and that he immediately filed a motion for these officials to be taken under oath. “It is high-time we shine a spotlight on this censorship enterprise, and force these officials into coming clean to the American people. This ruling will allow us do that. We will continue to press for the truth.”

The lawsuit will see former White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki and Dr. Anthony Fauci, Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, deposed under oath.
