CNN’s Tapper Says Crime is NOT Rising, and suggests the GOP is lying

Jake Tapper, CNN Tonight’s host, made an in-kind contribution by kicking off his low-rated show insisting that crime is not rising across the country. Despite all evidence, crime is actually on the rise. Tapper won’t admit it because that would upset his friends from the Democrat Party.

Tapper lamented that “violent crime is on the rise” has made millions of Americans afraid. Tapper added that the GOP is trying “harness that fear” for political gains.

Tapper went into sanctimonious lecture mode and asked Tapper “Is life in America really more dangerous than it used be?”

He then said that, “after years of decline”, national rates of violent crime did increase during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Between 2019 & 2020, the Trump years saw a 30% increase in the U.S. murder rate. This is the largest increase in homicide rates recorded in modern history. Tapper did not mention that the Trump administration’s dramatic rise in 2020 was due to the Black Lives Matter terrorists, who looted and burned American cities throughout the summer 2020.

He added, “The homicide rate rose by 4.3 percent in 2021 during Biden,”

Tapper continued his campaign for Democrats by insisting that “the overall violent criminal rate, not just counting homicides but all violent crime, actually fell by one percent nationally according the FBI. Homicides seem to be increasing nationally. The overall violent crime rate is slightly lower. However, it is a mixed bag depending on where you live.

Then he said straightly that crime rates are dropping in cities where Soros-funded prosecutors impose “criminal Justice Reform.”

Local prosecutors often blame themselves when crime rates rise. Is this fair? It’s often a lot more complicated than that.

Boston was an example. The district attorney stopped prosecuting violent offenses. What happened? Violent crime fell by 15% in 2021. Take two cities that increased their police budgets. Mobile, Alabama and Indianapolis, Indiana. They increased their police budgets, and saw an increase of violent crime last year.

He concluded his fact-free monologue with a lecture to Americans about how their personal experiences don’t reflect reality. “Your personal experiences may not be reflected on data. If you feel unsafe, or if someone close to you has been accosted, that’s your experience. Fear is primal. It is a vital emotion.

Tapper basically says: Who do you believe?” Tapper is basically saying: Who do you believe?

Tapper is obviously wrong. Even though Tapper cited a flawed FBI crime report, crime rates continue to rise.

JAKE TAPPER: Fear of violent crime has made millions of Americans afraid. The GOP tried to harness that fear. Top Republicans condemned the attack on Pelosi. They denied that the rhetoric suggested any role and instead pointed the finger entirely to the issue of rising violent crimes rates.

Is American life more dangerous than it used be? Here’s what we know so far about crime at the national level. After years of decline, the national rates of violent crime rose during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Between 2019 and 2020, during the Trump years, the U.S. murder rate rose by about 30%. This is the largest increase in modern history. According to the FBI, the homicide rate climbed 4.3 percent during Biden’s term in 2021.

According to the FBI, however, the overall violent crime rate, which includes homicides and all violent crime, actually fell by one percent. Homicides seem to be increasing nationally. The overall violent crime rate is slightly lower. However, it is a mixed bag depending on where you live.

Data may not reflect your personal experiences. If you feel unsafe, or if someone close to you has been accosted, this is your experience. Fear is primal. It is a vital emotion.

It motivates us to respond in life-or-death situations. Avoiding danger at any cost. You can listen to the data. Violent crime may be down in your locality. If you feel threatened, it’s likely that there is. Emotions are what motivate voters.
