One of the most prominent themes in liberal messaging is that democracy has been endangered by waves of misinformation and conspiracy theories. But aren’t liberals sometimes guilty of creating wild conspiracy theories that don’t turn out be true?
One of the most resonant points is the liberal belief that Donald Trump conspired with the Russian government in order to steal the 2016 elections – a conspiracy theory so strong, the media obsessed over it for years until Special Counsel Robert Mueller determined that it didn’t really exist.
A leftist group called “Indivisible,” released a video on October 21 with Hillary Clinton, claiming that “right-wing extremists are plotting a coup” in 2024.
Mrs. Clinton stated, “I know that we’re all focused upon the 2022 midterm election, and they are extremely important.” “But we must also look ahead because — you’re right — our opponents are certainly looking ahead. Right-wing extremists have already made a plan to steal the next presidential election and they aren’t making it a secret.
It also included a website called CrushTheCoup.org. They warned that “MAGA has a plan in place to steal the election of 2024.” We must stop them today.” The conspiracy is that the radical Supreme Court will rule that state legislatures have the right to overturn election results.

Here’s how you tell that this video (with three millions views on Twitter) is embarrassing for the liberal media, who bray every day about “election deniers” and “Stop the Steal”. Their narrative was hurt by Hillary’s echo. It was therefore overwhelmingly skipped.
This is a surprising story considering that Hillary Clinton was the 2016 Democratic nominee for president and claimed that Trump was an “illegitimate” president. You can search Nexis to find that ABC, NBC, PBS, NPR, MSNBC and even MSNBC ignored it. Next, turn to print journalists. It was ignored by the Associated Press! This clip was not found by USA Today, The Washington Post and New York Times.
Nine days later, on October 30, CBS Face the Nation host Margaret Brennan mentioned the issue when Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney (D.N.Y.), insisted that they would abide the 2022 election results.
“I’m glad that you said that because there has been a lot attention drawn to comments made by some Democrats, including Hillary Clinton who just released a taped declaration online where she spoke about upcoming elections. Brennan asked Brennan “I understand hyperbole but would you agree that it’s not helpful in this current environment to talk of plots to steal election?”
Maloney stated that he didn’t understand what it meant and that he had not seen the comment.
Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.), also brought it up on Sunday’s State of the Union. “We have Hillary Clinton saying that the ’24 election could be stolen. Stacey Abrams has said she didn’t win.
CNN’s Inside Politics journalists finally addressed the issue on Halloween – but to dismiss it. CNN host John King showed a brief clip of Scott, not any film of Hillary, and said, “But if they want to say those things are wrong. Let’s say they’re misdemeanors here compared with saying the January 6 defendants’ are being persecuted.” Manu Raju, a CNN reporter, agreed, saying, “If you’re going criticize Hillary Clinton’s statements about 2024, maybe make a point out the fact that Donald Trump has made this the centerpiece of all of everything.”
But that’s not their problem. Hillary sounds a lot like Donald Trump. The media can’t even admit that it exists.
