Miss Greater Derry, New Hampshire’s beauty pageant, has just chosen its teen winner to compete in the Miss New Hampshire contest. The winner is a biological male.
Brian Nguyen, a biological male, won the contest for MISS Greater Derry Scholarship with a crown title and a crown. According to his Instagram profile, he goes by the name “she/her/hers”.
It’s funny to me that he entered the contest, claiming to be a woman, but he still used the name Brian. Perhaps the accent was left so that the name remained more feminine.
Miss Greater Derry Scholarship was established in 1986. This year marks the first year that a man has been selected to receive its scholarship award.
Here is the mission statement of its website:
To award scholarships to young women aged 17-24 living in the Greater Derry region. These scholarships will recognize their outstanding achievements in scholastic ability, talent, community service, and poise, according to the Miss NH Organizations.
According to The Post Millennial, Mr. Nguyen won the Miss Greater Derry pageant, which is a preliminary event for Miss New Hampshire or Miss America.
He should not steal the award from a real female at the next competitions.
Nguyen isn’t a pretty girl, but that’s not the point. He is not a beautiful girl compared to the other female contestants.
Nguyen was still thrilled by his win.
“No words can express the joy of being able to serve my community and be Miss New Hampshire for the first time. I am honored to be your new Miss Greater Derry 2023 and I am excited to share all that I have to offer you. He shared the following Instagram post: “This will be an incredible year.”

Funny thing is, I’m sure that judges would not allow him to win because it’s common for guys to compete in girls pageants.
This is not something to be celebrated. A male took away a scholarship opportunity from a woman, he took her crown, and he received an honor he didn’t even have to try for. More women erased.
