Pelosi stated in a Jan. 6 video that she wanted to ‘punch out’ Trump
According to the story, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi was captured on video by her daughter who is a filmmaker, saying that a possible visit by then-President Donald Trump to the Capital on January 6th 2021.
“I want him to get out. This is my moment. This is the moment I have been waiting for. For trespassing upon the Capitol grounds. I want to punch him out and I’m going into jail. I’m going be happy.”
The media outrage? The media outraged by the recent attack on Pelosi’s husband at their San Francisco home?
Are you kidding? There was no outrage. As Rush Limbaugh’s old saying goes, zip, zero, nada.
But there’s more to this story, much more. Steve Malzberg, TNT Radio’s host, has been paying close attention to the fact that the media is silent when Democrats threaten violence. Here are some examples he has collected, and which he plays on his own show:
— Joe Biden. In 2016, Biden was campaigning for Hillary Clinton in Pennsylvania. He said that the press asked him if he would like to debate Trump. Biden responded that he wished he and Donald Trump had been in high school so he could take Trump to the gym.
Biden repeated the same statement at another rally, stating more specifically that he would like “to beat the hell out of Trump.”
Senator Cory Booker, a New Jersey Democrat, told Seth Meyers late night host that “my testosterone makes it feel like punching”
— Then there was this, infamously, from New York Democrat, Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer, as he stood at a demonstration in front of the Supreme Court.
Gorsuch, I want you to know that you have released the whirlwind and will be punished. If you continue to make these terrible decisions, you won’t be able to predict what will happen.
The Washington Post wrote this article about the threat to President Trump’s two Supreme Court Justices.
“Schumer’s comments sounded like a threat against Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. who took the rare step to publicly scold a senator Wednesday. Roberts made a statement denouncing Schumer’s remarks as ‘inappropriate and ‘dangerous’, stressing that ‘all members of the court will continue doing their job, regardless of who or what.
Warnings that judges and Supreme Court members will ‘pay for the price’ and won’t know what hit them’ sound alarming.
The headline was about Hawaii’s Democrat Senator Maziehirono: “Sen. Maziehirono Says the Battle Against the Anti-Abortion movement is ‘Literally a call to arms in our country’.”
In other words, The media’s sanctimonious nonsense about Republicans calling for violence is just silenced when, time and time again, Democrats do exactly the same.
Minnesota Republican Congressman Tom Emmer has noticed the double-standard and entered the lion’s Den of CBS to challenge Margaret Brennan, who was trying to play this blame game alongside Emmer. Replied to the Congressman
“I never saw anyone after Steve Scalise’s shooting by a Bernie Sanders supporter who tried to equate Democratic rhetoric and those actions.”
Bingo.
It is obvious that the media is playing double-standards. Republicans are to blame if Nancy Pelosi’s husband gets attacked. But if Nancy Pelosi is seen on video threatening the former President of the United States, vowing to “punch” him out, then it’s just another day in the neighbourhood.
It doesn’t matter if the target is Steve Scalise, Paul Pelosi, or anyone else, the idea of targeting them for violence would seem to be completely unacceptable.
Steve Malzberg demonstrates that the hard truth is that politicians with the right lefty credentials call for violence. Their media cheerleaders couldn’t care less.
