One of the most popular tropes used by liberal media to promote “historic” winners who help one fill out a diversity bingo. After the poor Republican performance, ABC, CBS and NBC used their flagship news channels Wednesday morning to woo Maxwell Frost, a Democrat who won a dark-blue Orlando House seat to become the first member from generation z elected to Congress.
Following CNN’s Tuesday night coverage, networks celebrated the election of two Democrats in Democrat states. Maura Healey will be the first openly lesbian governor of the United States and Wes Moore was elected Maryland’s first black governor.
Victor Oquendo, ABC’s correspondent, made sure to include Frost’s win during a Good Morning America segment on the massive red tsunami that struck Florida. “That said, [Democrats]’] one highlight was Maxwell Frost, a 25-year-old Democrat, winning his election and becoming the first genz member. He now holds Val Demings’s seat. Marco Rubio, the incumbent, defeated her.”
Frost was mentioned at the end of Trevor Ault’s separate piece, which described how “more and more candidates …. are breaking down barriers, shattering glasses ceilings.”
Ault also brought in Moore and Governor Kathy Hochul (D-NY), and gave a bone to Republicans when he acknowledged Sarah Huckabee Sanders winning in Arkansas.
CBS Mornings was adamant about Frost. He won their attention with “some historic wins” after a nod during the 7:00 a.m. Eastern Eye Opener.
“Did anyone hear about Maxwell Frost, a 25-year-old Democrat, becoming the first member generation z?” Nate, I think these are — that’s your children’s generation,” declared Vladimir Duthiers, “What to Watch” segment host, to co-host Nate Burleson.
Duthiers boasted that Frost, “a black Latino” was “easyly elected in Florida’s 10th Congress District” by insisting “on stricter gun control laws and abortion rights.”
The CBS journalist zoomed through Sander, Healey, and Republican Kate Britt, who won one of Alabama’s Senate seat, before landing on Moore. Gayle King, co-host and Democratic donor, was giddy as Moore was heralded and celebrated by Oprah Winfrey (click “expand”)
DUTHIERS – Katie Britt, a Republican from Alabama, became the first woman to be elected to the U.S. Senate. Britt will succeed Richard Shelby, a long-serving senator. In the meantime, Massachusetts and Maryland elected Democrats to replace their Republican governors. Maura Healey won Massachusetts governor’s election. She will be the first openly gay governor in the United States, and the first female governor for Massachusetts. This is huge. Maryland is another example.
KING: Wes Moore
DUTHIERS – This is also huge.
KING: Huge!
DUTHIERS. Wes Moore was elected the first black governor of Arkansas, defeating Dan Cox, a far-right Republican. Moore is the third black person to be elected governor in American history. Former White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders was elected Arkansas governor. She is the first woman to be elected governor of Arkansas and the highest-profile former Trump administration official to do so. All of you, congratulations
KING: All of them.
DUTHIERS — These historic wins. It’s really, really cool.
KING: We are reminded of Sarah Huckabee during the press briefings with Donald Trump
DUTHIERS: We sure do.
BURLESON: Yeah.
KING: — Trump’s communications secretary. She’s only 40 years of age.
They couldn’t go on without more Frost gushing. Duthiers and King simultaneously declared, “I love this story!”
They joked that while “my man’s going into Congress” was a joke, none of them were capable of it when they were 24.
Frost was back in the Eastern Eye Opener at 8:00 a.m. for the third time. King exclaimed that she “like[s]” him after hearing him say, “I’m not too old, I’m just a little on time,”
Burleson said, “Gen-Z is making its presence felt.”
NBC’s Today was not to be overlooked and unlike ABC and CBS, they only mentioned Democrats. Hoda Kotb, co-host, cheered the “night full of historic firsts”, with Moore and Healey winning, and Craig Melvin praising Hochul and Frost for becoming “the first members of Generation-Z” to win a House Seat.
Advertisers such as Geico (on ABC), The Hartford, and Nature’s Bounty on CBS made this predictable fawning possible. Follow these links to view their contact information on the MRC’s Conservative Fight Back Page.

[ON-SCREEN HEADLINE] Breaking News; Florida’s Red Shift: Republicans Score Big Wins In the Sunshine State
VICTOR OQUENDO (Victoria Oquendon): I spoke with Democrats in the state and they felt let down by the party leadership. Some told me that they need to clean up Florida and start again. Their one highlight was Maxwell Frost, a 25-year-old Democrat, winning his election and becoming the first Gen Z member. He now holds Val Demings’s seat. Marco Rubio, the incumbent, defeated her.

AMY ROBACH – Election night marked historic firsts in the country. Let’s talk to Trevor Ault about the trailblazers. Good morning, Trevor.
TREVOR AULT : Good morning Amy. As we wait for all the results to be finalized we are seeing more candidates from both sides of the aisle, breaking down glass ceilings, and breaking down barriers. Let’s start with Maryland. We now know that Wes Moore will be Maryland’s first black governor. Anthony Brown, Maryland’s first elected attorney general, is also going to be his first governor. Maura Healey, a Massachusetts woman elected governor, is the first female governor. In the history of the country, she is the first openly lesbian woman to be elected governor of a state. In New York, Kathy Hochul, the incumbent — she took over after Andrew Cuomo resigned — is now the first woman to be elected governor of the empire. Sarah Huckabee Sanders, the former Press Secretary, is also here. She is the first woman elected governor for Arkansas. We also have our first genexamine congressional representative. Maxwell Frost. He is located in Florida, around the Orlando area. He is only 25. T.J., this is the youngest person you can be to be elected to Congress.
T.J. HOLMES – Congratulations to him. We appreciate Trevor.

MAXWELL FOST: You can be sure that your congressman is there for you every day.
BURLESON – It appears that Gen Z is in this house. Maxwell Alejandro Frost from Florida is expected to be the first member in his Generation to win a seat at Congress.
FROST: To serve in Congress, you must be at least 25 years of age according to the Constitution. As a 25-year old, I would say that I am not too young. I’m just on the right time.
DUTHIERS: Only on time.
KING: Oh, we like him already.
DUTHIERS: Right?
BURLESON: That’s right.
