New York Times Front Page Blames Rapper and NBA Star for Trump’s Antisemitism

Ruth Graham and Michael Paulson of the New York Times probed the alleged Trump-fueled resurgence in anti-Semitism Sunday’s front-page, which was led by — the rapper formerly known as Kanye West and the basketball star Kyrie Irving. In “Pop Culture and Politics Propel a Steeping Stream of Antisemitism.”

One oddity: Six people were murdered in Jersey City in December 2019, including four at a grocery store. This murder could have been avoided because Trump and Republicans could not be held responsible. It was inspired by the anti-Semitic, sidewalk shouting rhetoric of Black Hebrew Israelites.

Graham and Paulson opened with a disturbing story about a Brooklyn rabbi who was verbally attacked at a gas station because he was Jewish. He blamed tensions created by the former Kanye West (now called Ye).

Things are very difficult for Jews in America. Some people see the midterm elections next week as a referendum on democracy’s direction. There is a war going on in Europe. The economy seems to be in a teetering state. It is a perilous moment, and perilous times for Jews have never been so.

….

Steve Rosenberg, a former executive of the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia, stated that he was “over the edge” after an incident last weekend when a prominent NBA player, Kyrie Irving, defended him supporting an antisemitic documentary. Ye also expressed praise for the effort )…..

Trump and Republicans are blaming the sour pronouncements of a rapper, and a NBA star for their blunders.

Since Trump’s election, a champion of Israel’s Right wing and the father to a convert to Judaism but also the beneficiary societal anger that often had ugly undertones, there has been a rise of attacks on the Jewish community. Some leaders have linked this to Mr. Trump’s unwillingness to distance himself from antisemitic groups.

The writers made wacky right-wing theories that are anti-Jewish explicitly. They cited a poll conducted by a group that attacks Christian conservatives as bigots.

The rhetoric about Jewish power is becoming more prevalent in a time when conspiracy theories about election fraud are being accepted by the mainstream Republican Party. The Public Religion Research Institute polled nearly 25% of Republicans in 2021 and found that almost 25% agreed that the government, media, and financial worlds of the U.S. were controlled by Satan-worshipping pedophiles that run a global child-sex trading operation.

Trayon White Sr., a Washington, D.C. Councilman, posted a video during the 2018 snowstorm claiming that Jewish financiers control weather. This controversy was barely mentioned in an opinion piece by nytimes.com.

They gathered more anecdotes.

Many of the nation’s recent political violence incidents are linked by antisemitism: the “Jews won’t replace us” chants at a white nationalist rally held in Charlottesville, Va. in 2017, the “Camp Auschwitz” sweatshirt worn to last years attack on the U.S. Capitol, and the Holocaust denial blog posts that seem to have been written last week ….by the man who broke into Nancy Pelosi’s residence.

This slander by Democrats was received with approval.

The Jewish Democratic Council of America published a digital advertisement last week that juxtaposed images of rallies in Nazi Germany and the Jan. 6 invasion of Capitol. It also featured antisemitic graffiti, recent banners above the Los Angeles freeway, and the “Kanye is Right” banner.

The Times mentioned a threat to a New Jersey synagogue and also mentioned a 2019 attack on one in California. However, it again missed the 2019 Black Israelite-inspired attack in Jersey City. Why?
