‘OUR DEMOCRACY: Soros gave over $80 million to groups pushing Censorship before the Midterms

What does the world’s most powerful Big Tech oligarchs have in common with nearly 30 pro-censorship organizations? They all have a common disdain for free speech. George Soros, a liberal billionaire, gave them $80,233 084 to help them in their election influence operations.

Soros tried to influence the outcome of the midterm elections by pursuing multiple fronts in October. He was pushing for censorship on all fronts. First, the Soros-funded Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights emailed an open letter on Oct. 13, asking Big Tech to take “immediate measures to curb the spread disinformation about voting in the midterms and future election and to help prevent the undermining our democracy.”

A week later, Global Witness, another Soros-funded organization, published an “investigation” piece complaining that Facebook and TikTok weren’t censoring enough in the lead up to the November midterm elections.

The Washington Post’s procensorship zealots gave the platform to the Change The Terms Coalition at the end October. This group warned of “violence,” if the Big Tech giants failed to censor so-called disinformation leading up to 2022 midterms.

Soros used his bankroll to influence the top leaders of Big Tech.

LCCHR addressed its imposing letter to tech executives, including Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Google CEO Sundar Pichai. It also addressed it to Twitter CEO Parag Agawal, YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki and TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew. Snap CEO Evan Spiegel, and Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri. Between 2016 and 2020, Soros sent a staggering $30,325,500 to at most 7 of the 12 total signers to LCCHR’s letter.

Soros’ reach extends to the entire world. According to Open Society Foundations data, Soros gave Global Witness $17.657,000 between 2016-2020. Global Witness has offices in London, Brussels, and Washington, D.C.

Soros targeted three tech giants in October for his latest censorship push: Meta, Twitter, and TikTok. According to an MRC Business analysis, he gave $32,250584 to at most 28 of the groups that signed up to the Change The Terms Coalition between 2016-2020.

The coalition launched a “#FixTheFeed Campaign” which asked “Facebook,” Instagram, TikTok and Twitter to stop amplifying the worst content they found on their platforms. Hate. Disinformation. Violence calls. Propaganda.”

The powerful group went on to criticize Facebook for “actively amplifying hatred and disinformation to make more money, which hurts communities and undermines democracy.”

Even the liberal media can’t deny Soros’ enormous influence on American politics. The New York Times declared Soros the “largest contributor of 2022” after he donated “at least $126million”, nearly double the amount that the next two largest donors — both Republicans — could manage.
