MSNBC host Stephanie Ruhle closed Tuesday’s The 11th Hour by promoting the false view that aborting unborn children is good for the economy. Ruhle opened the final segment by playing a clip of her Friday show in which Amber Tamblyn, a liberal actress, said: “I think that we’re forgetting how abortion and this type of access are an economic issue.”
After watching Ruhle inject, Tamblyn said: “Sure it is.” Tamblyn also stated: “It is a huge economic problem. It’s not an economic issue that is front and center at the moment. Ruhle added that it is for women who have an unplanned pregnancy.
The MSNBC host then appeared on-air and offered a similar commentary to one that Leigh McGowan, a liberal activist. Here’s Ruhle:
“The Last Thing Before we Go Tonight”: Abortion and the economy. It was said during Friday night chat last week. Access to abortion is an economic problem. McGowan was referring to a recent poll that found that more voters vote based on economic factors than abortion. This led her to complain:
This framing is so wrong. It’s not about abortion or the economy. Abortion is an integral part of the economy. What happens to the economy if women are forced to have babies they cannot afford or aren’t ready for? What happens to the economy if women are forced to leave their jobs or drop out of school to care for a child?
She did not acknowledge adoption as an option and instead complained about the costs of raising a child. Finally, she encouraged her viewers to vote for Democrats.
Vote for the party that gives Americans the ability to make decisions about their own lives. Vote for the party which voted to raise minimum wage and tax large corporations to lower the price of prescription drugs. The party that wants to strengthen Social Security, not take it away. It’s not about “abortion” or the economy. It is an economic decision to bring a child into this world. Stop separating them as they are inextricably connected.
Ruhle appeared again and said: “They are indeed interconnected.” It’s abortion and the economy.
McGowan’s admiration dates back to Brian Williams, who hosted the show. Similarly, he once ended the show with commentary from a liberal activist trying to advise Democrats how to respond to their losses in 2021 elections.
Anan Giridharadas, a MSNBC contributor, went so far as to claim that President Joe Biden should have made an act of visiting an abortion clinic and signing women in.

GIRIDHARADAS — Show — Make people — Take stunts. As you mentioned, the Democrats are struggling with picking fights. They struggle to create messages that motivate people and offer an exciting alternative to Trumpism. It’s not enough to simply say that these people are dangerous.

LEIGH McGOWAN LIBERAL ACTIVIST: ABC released a poll saying that, while most Americans agree with Democrats on abortion rights, the number one issue for Americans is the economy. So they’re going on to vote on that. And I have to say that this framing is so pathetic. It’s not about abortion or the economy. Abortion is an integral part of the economy. What happens to the economy if women are forced to have babies they cannot afford or aren’t ready for? What happens to the economy if women are forced to leave their jobs or drop out of school to care for a child?
What is a kitchen table problem? How many people are seated at your kitchen table? It can cost more than $20,000 to have a child in this country. We don’t have affordable child care or paid family leave. Public schools are being cut in half. We don’t have access to affordable college or health care. In this country, adding to your family is 100 per cent an economic problem.
