Joy Reid, MSNBC host, suggested that if you planned on voting against the Democrats next Thursday because their hyper-spending has caused the worst inflation in 40 years, then you have fallen for a GOP scam. Reid claimed that “inflation” was a term that only economists or journalists had used before the campaign. It was also “taught” by Republicans to voters to “wrap around…the reasons they really want” to vote.
A poll released this week found that 45 percent of registered voters thought inflation was their top concern heading into the election. This could be a sign that the sinister Republican effort is having great success or that large numbers are paying attention to the rise in prices over the past two years and are angry.
Reid spoke in Florida to discuss what Florida voters care about going into the midterms. She said that she’d never heard anyone talk about inflation “without being an economist or working on CNBC.” This year’s worries are being created by Republicans.

Maybe Reid is trying to make the issue disappear because it’s the most important issue for Democrats in an election year chock-full of negative issues for the party in control. Her party.

NICOLLE WALKACE: Joy, I’m curious, you know — the thing that stands out to me is the fact that Republicans claim they’re running on crime and inflation. Republicans have not offered any solutions to voters on these topics, and the state is run by a Republican. How are these issues being handled in Florida?
JOY REID : It’s also interesting that I have never heard anyone who isn’t an economist or works for CNBC. I used CNBC as a guest and Larry Kudlow’s show a few times a week. The only people I’ve ever heard use the term ‘inflation’ is journalists and economists. Right? That is not the normal way people talk.
It’s quite interesting to see Republicans doing something they don’t normally do. It’s not common to use the common language. They don’t use common English to, sorta, use, do on their campaign, as they do with crime. They’ve actually taught people the term “inflation.” People who would never have used the word inflation in their lives, are now using it because they’ve been taught it on TV and in newspapers. They have been taught this word. They wrap this word around the reason they want to vote, you know, the real reasons.
