Twitter helped Joe Biden win the election // (John Hinderaker).
Twitter will release internal documents detailing how and why they suppressed Joe Biden’s corruption information, as promised by Elon Musk. Twitter appears to have outsourced this task to Matt Taibbi, a liberal (but not insane) commentator. You can follow Taibbi’s thread .
I will have more to share when it is over. But here are some highlights.
To get objectionable tweets censored, the Biden campaign spoke directly to Twitter:
Twitter locked Kayleigh McEnany, White House Press Secretary, because she referenced the (accurate), New York Post article about the laptop. A Trump staffer complained in disgust:
Twitter officials suppressed the news, but couldn’t find a coherent reason.

It is remarkable how many Twitter employees have questioned the legitimacy of suppressing Biden’s news.

One Democratic Congressman reached for Twitter to voice his concerns about free speech. Twitter officials didn’t seem able to grasp the point.

Szabo, a NetChoice man, weighed in to Twitter and explained the need for more censorship.

“THE FIRST AMENDMENT IS NOT ABSOLUTE”
Szabo’s letter includes chilling passages that reflect the attitudes of Democratic lawmakers. They want “more” moderation, and as for the Bill of Rights, it’s “not absolute” pic.twitter.com/cWdNYIprp8— Matt Taibbi (@mtaibbi) December 3, 2022
The thread continues. It has so far confirmed what we already knew. Liberal Twitter employees used a weak pretext to suppress a story that could hurt the Biden campaign in those final days before the election. Taibbi says that one striking feature of the censorship was that it was done without Jack Dorsey (Twitter’s CEO), who later apologized. Twitter partisans may have thought Dorsey might not be on board with their censorship.
It is also fascinating to see the many responses by liberals who believe that Twitter did a good job. They represent the majority of Democrats who believe that any information that harms or helps Republicans should be suppressed.
You can still read the thread at the link. I will update you with any further significant revelations either later tonight or tomorrow morning.
