es Demand Voter Fraud // John Hinderaker

North Carolina’s legislature passed legislation in 2018 requiring voter ID for elections. Left-wing activists challenged this law, which enjoys overwhelming public support. Last Friday, the lame-duck North Carolina Supreme Court overturned the law. In a separate case, however, the Court also invalidated the Republican legislature’s redistricting plan. Let’s now focus on voter identification:

Both rulings were 4-3 in favor of Democrats, with all Republicans voting against. ***

The Democratic justices pointed out that Republicans had rushed the voter ID ruling through a lame duck session after Democrats had taken some of their power during the 2018 midterms. House Speaker Tim Moore stated in a press release that the Supreme Court is now doing the same thing with the parties reversed.

These cases were heard by the 4-3 majority of the North Carolina Supreme Court so that they could be decided in favor of Democrats. The Court will now have a 5-2 Republican majority as of January.

Why would a requirement for voter ID, which polls show is supported by 70% of Americans, including large majority of minorities, be illegal

[Justice] Earls stated that even though the General Assembly knew that African-American voters would be disproportionately impacted by (the law), it nevertheless passed a law that required specific IDs that African-American voters disproportionately lacked. A dissenting opinion from the court’s Republican justices argued that there is no evidence that the law was passed with race in view, let alone a discriminatory intent.

It is a Democratic belief that if you attempt to prevent voter fraud, then you are discriminating against African-Americans. Liberals believe that blacks are guilty of a lot more voter fraud than they realize. I don’t know much about this, but it seems that a lot of Democrats commit voter fraud. Or else, why would Democratic judges and politicians be so hostile to any attempt to improve ballot integrity?

Voters who want honest elections will make this a happy ending.

The rulings were made at the last moment for the voting rights activists that won the cases. In January, the court will switch to a Republican majority. All of the state midterm elections this year were won by GOP judges.

And:

Republicans, who control a majority of both the state legislature’s houses, promised to pass another, perhaps even more strict, voter ID law as a response to the court ruling.

Let’s all hope they succeed.
