I get a steady supply of emails from viewers and listeners who want to realize if any of my or perhaps Lucretia’s college courses usually are webcast or otherwise available online, in addition to unfortunately the answer is No, to some extent for legal reasons but in addition for some technical reasons (streaming live classes is not as fundamental as it might seem, and the saving quality is often poor). Nevertheless we have for the longest moment been thinking about offering a number of our class content about Power Line in an arranged fashion, and so with this event, we are pleased to inaugurate a fresh feature, “Power Line University or college. ”
The Federalist Papers will be the dedicated ” For this first trial event, Lucretia and I decided that all of us would share about three favorite passages from The Federalist , and explain why these kinds of passages in particular are considerable or relevant to our existing moment. (If you want to follow at home on this first episode, typically the passages we selected usually are from Federalist #s just one, 10, 43, 31, fifty-five, and 57. )
We haven’t determined yet how many episodes the Federalist course will be–probably five or six– nevertheless our intention is that upcoming episodes, starting next week, will probably be done in webinar style about Zoom, so you can tune in survive to our virtual “classroom” in addition to pose questions or remarks. Eventually we may try to offer you some seminars in Move meeting format (though most likely limited to VIP subscribers regarding security reasons), where members will get to appear on digicam, speak live and go over the issues with other participants, etc. And if you can’t make the seminars on the web or live classes, they will still be available in podcast contact form.
We have a lot of ideas for future short classes, such as going over the Metabolism itself, the Presidency, Lincoln subsequently, classical political philosophy perhaps–but above all we’d like to listen to listeners: please send alongside your ideas and suggestions (and questions on the topics our company is covering) in the comment twine or directly by e mail. I will be doing a special sequence on science policy together with Ken Green, who has merely completed a terrific book within the defects of scientific designs (such as the ones right behind the COVID panic) starting up some time in February.
The good news is, no “diversity” statements will be required for contribution, and in fact we’re will make a Bingo card from the Stanford ” Banned Phrases list” for each session. We all won’t have any checks or term paper tasks, though ridicule from Lucretia is not ruled out! (Actually this is certainly all just a plot to have her back in the classroom, considering that her university has noticed fit to punish the woman by making her an officer. )
