Yet another bonus holiday event for everyone to savor before the college or university football bowl games turn up…
“Human privileges do not exist, ” promises an anonymous dissident conventional writer, but when he (at least we’re going to recognize the author as a “he”–heh) extra some animadversions concerning our pal Michael Anton, the fight was about! Anton has responded from length to this provocation using a true visit de force over at Us Greatness , entitled ” Natural Right and the Standard Reproach . ” I really do encourage interested readers to absorb the whole thing, as it a short and snappy tour through the history and philosophical tradition of natural proper, especially as it matches around our desperate scene these days.
Of course , doubt natural right is a money offense for our Lucretia, thus she joins us for the spirited discussion of this issue, in which I play devil’s advocate and press several difficulties with Michael’s position in addition to analysis. We also ingest Paul Gottfried’s polite response to Michael, which often left us more worried than anything.
We did have a handful of minor technical problems although we were recording that fallen Michael’ s sound for a couple seconds, which led to several very abrupt jump reduces, but we smoothed it as best we could. We think there are sequels to this debate ahead. Keep watching.
