dom speaks // (Scott Johnson)

The Middle East Forum posted an interview with Enes Kanti Freedom. This is the MEF introduction.

Enes Kanter Liberty, a star basketball player for the Boston Celtics, was born in Turkey. In 2013, Enes Kanter Freedom began to voice concern about human rights violations in Turkey by President Recep Tayep Turkey. Shortly thereafter, Freedom’s Turkish passport was cancelled, his name was placed on an Interpol List, and his father was imprisoned in Turkey. Two kidnapping attempts were made against Freedom by the Turkish government in 2017: in Indonesia and Romania. Freedom will tell his story, the struggles he made to resist oppressive dictatorships and the price he paid for it.

It was worth my time to hear Freedom speak.
