kpot Leftism in Minnesota // (John Hinderaker).

Hennepin County, Minnesota, contains the City of Minneapolis, and usually two tiers of suburban areas. It has been swinging radically to the right in recent years. It is, after all Ilhan Omar territory. Mary Moriarty was elected Hennepin County Attorney in November, which is a sign of how out of control politics are in this region.

Alpha News covers Moriarty’s swearing-in ceremony, which took place yesterday. Did Moriarty place her hand on the Bible? No. Perhaps the Constitution? No.

Mary Moriarty was the new Hennepin County attorney. She took her oath Tuesday and placed her hand on a graphic novel about John Lewis.

Photographs from the swearing in ceremony show Moriarty holding a copy “March” in her hand. She described it as a “graphic novel trilogy” about Congressman John Lewis and his brave fight for voting rights.

Lewis is most famous for lying to Tea Party members about him using racial epithets. This never happened. I don’t know if that disreputable episode is covered by the “graphic novel” comic book. I believe it, but I doubt it.

It is unfortunate that the natural inference that Moriarty would be a crackpot leftist is true.

Former chief public defender, Moriarty pushed “restorative justice” programs on the campaign trail to “alternatives to incarceration and traditional prosecution.”

Research and data have shown that non-restorative punishments do not prevent recidivism, don’t repair families, or cause harm to communities. She states that inincarceration can sometimes take place up to a year after a crime has been committed.

The website states that “incarceration is a method of separating the perpetrator of violence from their community and making it extremely difficult to reintegrate them.” Mary’s office will offer victims an alternative to traditional criminal prosecution through restorative justice.

She is also against the cash bail system which “does not help to make our community more secure.”

She will also make Hennepin County a haven for crime with her soft-on-crime approach. It looks like she will need to hire a new staff.

Fox 9 reports that 14 Hennepin County Attorney’s Office senior employees plan to leave when Moriarty becomes president.

The exodus of Minnesota continues.
