Environmental alarmists made a decision to hedge their bets years ago by talking about “climate changes” instead of “global warming.” Climate change is responsible for rain ruining your picnic.

Are severe weather events increasing? They are not .

[D]ata for all 2022 tropical storms shows global storm strength was at its lowest level in the last 42 year (since 1981). This is according to the ACE (Accumulated Cyclone Energy) data below from Colorado State University’s Department of Atmospheric Science, which tracks NOAA’s National Hurricane Center data on tropical storms.

Similar charts are available at the link. They show no increase in hurricane activity per hemisphere.

This chart by Roger Pielke shows a wider range of “Global Weather and Climate Disasters”. Again, the trend is downward.

Like hurricanes, tornadoes are trending downward.

Our reporters-many of them ignorant, mendacious or both-recite routinely as fact that extreme weather events are increasing due to climate change. It is simply not true.
