“Extremists”, vs. Theirs // John Hinderaker
Some left-leaning people are opposing the rebellion launched by Matt Gaetz and others. The quiescence displayed by the “Squad”, and other radical Democrats during Pelosi’s regime. The difference is not surprising to me for two reasons: 1) Democrats are a top-down party and take orders naturally; and 2) Pelosi was so far left that I don’t know what the Squad could have stayed for.
This thread by Glenn Greenwald is worth consideration. Perhaps he has a point.
2020 was the same year House progressives and the incredibly radical Squad had the same chance as House conservatives.
House conservatives fought Leadership to secure major concessions that would empower them and their agenda.
House progressives did what they were told and got nothing: https://t.co/pfFCzW6wkl

@RepMTG used her leverage to get McCarthy to acknowledge the power she held among their base and to promise to respect it. Gaetz & Co. won real concessions that make it more democratic. They also made vital reforms like this. That’s using power:https://t.co/g9UUYWRpAP

So long as the Squad or HPC have a small army YouTube hosts and pseudo-left writers to defend their actions, the majority will remain captive to the Biden, Schumer, and Jeffries. They’re gone, they’re empty and pointless partisans. These reforms are worth your time.
