Today, President Biden was again embarrassed when it became clear that there was a second set of classified documents at a location that is still unknown but is different from the Penn Office where the first classified documents were found. This is a shameful development for Democrats, as they were trying to indict Donald Trump for having classified files in his Mar-a-Lago basement.
Given the fervor with which Biden has decried Trump for having classified information, it is absurd that the White House responded to these findings. Today Peter Doucy interrogated Karine Jean-Pierre about several topics. The newly-found classified material came in the middle.
Poor Karine has nothing better to say than that Biden’s lawyers did the right thing after they found the illegally-purloined-if you believe the Democrats-files. Bravo to the lawyers That was not the question. The question is why Biden took classified documents from the White House and placed them in different locations for a number of years.
This story isn’t really that significant. Every president and vice-president takes documents with them when leaving the White House. Over-classification is a common problem in the executive branch. Even the simplest documents can be classified as confidential or secret. Even top-secret documents can appear pedestrian once they are made public. I think that a large percentage of the paper pieces that a president sees at the Oval Office is classified. This means that if he decides to take some boxes home to work on his memoirs, there will be quite a few classified pieces.
This is not important, at least not when previous presidents did it. The Democrats saw an opportunity for Donald Trump to be attacked, and even put him in jail, so the topic of ex-presidents or in Biden’s instance, an ex-vice-president, possessing classified material has been brought up. The Trump actions were trivial and Biden’s actions, so far, are also trivial. It is yet another exploding cigar in Democrats’ endless attempts to destroy Trump once and for all.
