As the hours pass and the remaining oxygen on the sub drops to extremely lower levels, the race to save the five passengers on board the missing Titan submersible intensifies.
The Titan sub today has less than 20 hours’ worth of reserve oxygen after losing communications with its operator on Sunday morning. The sub that was intended to transport them to the infamous Titanic shipwreck has five people on board.
The Coast Guard declared on Tuesday that American aircraft aiding in the rescue efforts had” underground noises” detected underground. These sounds, which were referred to as” banging,” were coming from the ship’s search area.
The US Coast Guard tweeted that” American P-3 aircraft detected underwater noises in the search area.” ROV operations were moved as a result in an effort to investigate the source of the noises. Those TOV searches have produced unfavorable results, but they go on.
