Kevin McCarthy, Speaker of the House( R – Ca. ) Donald Trump, a former president and candidate for president in 2024, was defended on Tuesday. He made his remarks after a carefully edited clip of him criticizing Trump that was widely circulated in the media.
The majority of the clip features him supporting Trump, but in one scene, he claims to be unsure of whether Trump is the most qualified candidate to unseat Biden, which CNN reporter Kristen Holmes and others exploited to sow discord between him and the original President.
McCarthy clarified his position on Trump following the unfavorable coverage of his remarks and stated that he is committed to holding the Biden administration responsible for their corruption.
