Several attendees at the California Department of Justice’s final Reparations Task Force Meeting created a scene Thursday during the public comments section of the event, demanding reparations.
Several California residents were excited to have the opportunity to speak directly with the board, shouting into the microphone that the time for reparations was “now!”
One person encouraged the crowd to raise their hands and chant about their desire for restitution. Another stood up and demanded a sort of “divorce settlement” between Black Americans and other Americans.
