Alexandria Ocasio Cortez, a New York Democrat representative, had an embarrassing conversation with a CNN Reporter on Sunday that revealed her complete ignorance. AOC doesn’t seem to understand that America has THREE EQUAL branches and that Congress cannot undermine the Supreme Court if some members don’t like a ruling.
AOC appeared on CNN’s State of the Union to tell CNN host Dana Bash the Congress has the authority to overturn Supreme Court decisions. “We have a wide range of tools for dealing with misconduct, abuse of power, and overreach.”
She explained why the High Court’s recent decisions to uphold Constitution should be curtailed. The Supreme Court ruled on the First Amendment in late June. This protected free speech and expression, allowing media companies to choose which websites they wish to create. The Court also upheld 14th Amendment, which prohibits colleges from using race as a factor in admission. Both rulings angered the leftists, who have largely taken over the Democratic party. A party that once fought for freedom of speech has been moving towards intolerance and suppression at an alarming pace.
AOC’s mishmash rhetoric, meant to sound intelligent, instead revealed her ignorance of the Constitution as well as the American system. AOC suggested that Congress supervise the Court’s decision in order to legitimize the Supreme Court. Congress would be in violation of the law if it tried to overstep its powers by applying AOC’s absurd suggestion. The Supreme Court doesn’t have to prove its legitimacy. AOC and other Democrats have not suggested that other branches of government must prove their legitimacy. She told Bash.
“The Supreme Court does not receive the adequate oversight required to preserve its own legitimacy. In the process, the Supreme Court has been destroying its own legitimacy. This is dangerous for our democracy as a whole.”

The left has attempted to undermine the Supreme Court, and is attacking the brilliant balance given to us by the founding fathers. The left encouraged illegal picketing and rioting outside the homes of Supreme Court Justices during the Dobbs ruling, which overturned Roe. They likely hoped to intimidate the Justices into backing down. AOC was crushed by social media after her ignorant calls to summon the Supreme Court. Twitter users scolded AOC, educating her about the rule of law.

“AOC believes that anything that happens in the national state which she does not like should be eliminated by government. It’s not a good look for a congressperson to be fascist. AOC uses her platform to attack the American process, and the people that rely on it and support it.
Bradley said AOC’s opinions would only be heard by drunks if she returned to bartending.
AOC believes that the government should eliminate anything that occurs on the national stage which she does not like.
It’s not a good look to be an American congressperson if you do that.

Another Twitter user noted that the Supreme Court’s decision to strike down Biden’s Student Debt Forgiveness Act was a way of protecting Congress, not usurping its role. Does AOC not comprehend the legal separation of powers? Maybe her ignorant rants were an attempt to stir an equally uneducated audience.
