Attorney General Merrick Garland’s announcement that he would give U.S. Attorney David Weiss special counsel status is unmistakably a response to Trump, the IRS whistleblowers, and the Delaware judge who called for Hunter Biden to receive the slap on the wrist that the DOJ had allegedly conspired to do. Weiss had allegedly been denied the right to bring charges against Hunter Biden in the appropriate jurisdictions by local U.S. attorneys who had been appointed to represent him, according to IRS whistleblowers. The media applauded as Garland, the Justice Department, and Weiss all categorically denied this. GOP” Whistleblower” Claims – New Republic: U.S. Attorney
Weiss will have special counsel status, according to Daily NewsNow Garland, who pokes holes in a crucial Democratic claim regarding the Hunter Biden case and claims that he never requested it. Garland claimed that in the past, Weiss was free to bring charges against Hunter Biden in any court. ( A claim that is untrue in reality. ) But why give him special counsel status right then if that were the case? Practically speaking, it has no purpose. Weiss had already sold out, no matter what he had done. That little was clear from his response to the IRS whistleblowers. The outcome will be the same if the Hunter Biden case is pursued over a longer period of time. Simply put, it will be more of a show. This time, the fine might be higher, and a protracted open-ended investigation— which would be harmful to Hunter — will prevent Congress from taking action. Weiss will then be a unique counsel and run out of time after proving himself.

Garland said that Weiss was able to charge Hunter Biden anywhere. (A factually false claim.) It’s not meaningful. Weiss had already sold out. His response to IRS whistleblowers proved that. The same outcome will be achieved by dragging the Hunter Biden case through a longer staged fight. It’ll be more of a performance. This time, the fine could be higher and an open-ended, extended investigation, which would be hurtful to Hunter’s reputation, will keep this matter out of Congress’s hands. Weiss will be appointed as a special prosecutor and will run out the clock.
