Local libraries can save democracy, one reader at a time  

The American Library Association reported that there were over 1,200 attempts to ban books in 2022. This compares to 700 in the year 2021 and 200 for 2020.

 According to the American Library Association, there were 200 attempted book bans in 2020 compared to 700 in 2021. According to the American Library Association, there were more than 1,200 attempted book bans in 2022 as opposed to 700 and 200 in 2020.
