School District In Major U.S. City Drops COVID-19 Jab Mandate

In a 6 – 1 vote late on Tuesday, the Los Angeles Unified School District repealed its COVID-19 jab requirement for employees.
The mandate went into effect in August 2021 and was unethical, evil, and scientific.
According to NBC Los Angeles, the district’s Board of Education has updated its vaccination policy in light of changing clinical data and after consulting with local health authorities.
We will no longer require employees and contractors, vendors, volunteers, and charter schools to be immunized against COVID-19, even though we encourage everyone to stay up to date on all vaccinations, the statement continued.

According to NBC Los Angeles:
More than 20 current and previous school Police Department employees claimed in a lawsuit filed on January 10, 2023, that the district disregarded spiritual beliefs and enforced its vaccination policy at the plaintiffs’ expense because science shows that being immunized against COVID-19 does not prevent one from contracting the virus.
In 2021, when alarming infection and hospitalization rates prompted several school districts and local government jurisdictions to impose vaccine mandates, the district’s Board of Education even approved a mandate for students to receive the COVID vaccine.
But, that mandate even encountered legal difficulties. The mandate was always put into effect, and enforcement was postponed until at least July 2023.
GOOD NEWS: “… not a solitary COVID vaccine mandate has been imposed that has persisted in any public school district across the nation.” Without local activism and legal action, this feat would not have been possible. TheDefender https :// t.co / Z9xfHxnAED @ maryhollandnyc

The fact that there hasn’t been a second COVID vaccine mandate imposed in one public school district in the nation that has persisted is” a great credit to the health freedom movement as an entire.” Without grassroots activism and legal action, this accomplishment would not have been probable, according to Mary Holland, president of the Children’s Health Defense, J. D.
writes The Defender:
The vote was” another big victory” for the health freedom movement, according to Leslie Manookian, president and founder of HFDF.
Even so, she claimed, the district’s decision to revoke the order now — more than two years after it was made public and after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention acknowledged that COVID-19 vaccines don’t prevent infection or transmission— is a” cynical attempt to avoid justice as the judges signaled they believed LAUSDs’ vaccine mandate was irrational.”
For LAUSD employees who are adversely impacted by the vaccine mandate, HFDF offers legitimate representation. Top LAUSD officials, including board members, were sued on November 2, 2021, by HFDF andLAUSD employees with California Educators for Medical Freedom, claiming that the district’s vaccine mandate violated their” rights of individual autonomy, self-determination, bodily integrity, and the right to reject medical treatment.”
The plaintiffs appealed after a U.S. district judge dismissed the case on September 2, 2022.
On September 14, HFDF attorneys made oral arguments in the 9th Circuit U. S. Court of Appeals before a three-judge panel, arguing that the case should be allowed to continue. The panel’s judgment is also up for debate.

One of the three judges, according to an HFDF statement about the hearing,” was shocked” and” floored” by the district’s” irrational” justification for the policy and the LAUSD ongoing COVID – 19 vaccine employee policy.

Los Angeles Unified school district voted 6-1 late Tuesday to rescind its COVID-19 mandate for employees.
The mandate was unscientific, unethical and immoral. It went into effect in August 2021.
According to NBC Los Angeles, the Board of Education of the district announced that “in light of evolving medical information and in consultation with the local health authorities, The District has revised its vaccine policy, as many other county and state entities have done.”
The statement continued, “While we encourage everyone stay up-to date on all vaccinations we will no longer be requiring employees and contractors, vendor, volunteers and Charter Schools to be vaccinated for COVID-19.”

NBC Los Angeles reports:
In a lawsuit filed on Jan. 10, 2023 by more than 20 former and current members of the school Police Department, they alleged that science showed that being vaccinated for COVID-19 did not prevent someone from contracting the virus. They also alleged that the district ignored religious beliefs and enforced their vaccination policy at the expense of the plaintiffs.
The district’s Board of Education approved a COVID vaccination mandate for students in the year 2021. Alarming rates of infection and hospitalization led many school districts to mandate vaccines.
Nevertheless, the mandate was also challenged in court. The mandate was never implemented and its enforcement was delayed until July 2023 at least.

It is a great credit to the health-freedom movement that not a single COVID vaccination mandate has been imposed in any public school district across the country. This feat would not be possible without grassroots activism, and lawsuits,” said Children’s Health Defense’s President Mary Holland.
The Defender writes
Leslie Manookian (founder and president of HFDF) said that the vote was a “huge victory” for the movement.
She said that the district’s decision to rescind its order now, more than two years later, after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) admitted COVID-19 vaccinations do not prevent infection or transmission, is a “cynical effort to evade the justice, as the judges indicated they believed LAUSD’s vaccine mandate to be irrational.”
HFDF provides legal assistance to LAUSD employees who are negatively affected by the mandate. California Educators for Medical Freedom and HFDF, along with LAUSD employees, sued top officials in the LAUSD on Nov. 2, 2021. They alleged that the district’s mandated vaccines violated the 14th Amendment rights of employees, including their right to refuse medical treatment.
The plaintiffs appealed after a U.S. District Judge dismissed the case on September 2, 2022.
On Sept. 14, HFDF attorneys presented oral arguments to a three judge panel of the 9th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals. They argued that the case should proceed. The panel’s final decision is still pending.

According to a HFDF statement relating the hearing, one judge was “shocked”, “floored”, and “stunned” at LAUSD’s current COVID-19 vaccination employee policy and the district’s ‘irrational’ justification for this policy.
