Scientists Have Created Natural Sponges That Soak Up Nanoplastics

 In order to prevent plastic pollution from entering the oceans, Chinese scientists have developed some empirical sponges out of starch and gelatin that can absorb microplastics. The sponges are virtually as gentle as a feather, and less than one nanoplastic particle is present inside their pores in addition to microplastics.
