On Sunday Donald Trump predicted that he would emerge the victor in the Iowa Republican presidential caucuses in January, defying his counselors’ warnings against making lofty assertions. He began by naming a city from another state and asked rhetorically, “I go around saying of course we’re going to win Iowa. I have people putting out press releases, ‘Donald Trump predicts he will win.’ Who the hell knows, I mean, maybe I won’t. Then we’d all look bad, right?” Trump declared to those at the Orpheum Theater in Sioux City, Iowa, that his supporters repudiated the idea that presumptions should be made. He declared that “there’s no way Iowa is going to vote against” him, referring to the economic benefits to farm states from the tariffs his government imposed on China. Yet when he got up to speak, he gave a warm hello to a town more than 80 miles to the north and situated on the South Dakota side of the border. It’s great to be here!”

Greetings to Sioux Falls, a place where we have prospered greatly. It is an honor to be here! He expressed his gratitude and then some time later acknowledged his mistake. Donald Trump has held eight political rallies in Iowa in the last few weeks as part of his intensive campaigning in the run-up to the initial caucuses scheduled for January. Ron DeSantis, one of the rising stars among Republicans, he was lavishing praise on Sen. Joni Ernst of Iowa

At a speech given in Sioux City, Iowa – which is seen as a stronghold of the GOP – President Trump had a much more organized campaign style than he did in 2016 when he was new to the process. Although Trump has been critical of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis in the past, he praised Senator Joni Ernst of Iowa during his speech.
