Will Hurd Drops Out Of GOP Presidential Primary, Endorses Nikki Haley

The Texas congressman urged Republicans to rally behind an alternative candidate to Donald Trump, who is the front-runner.

 Former Texas representative Will Hurd withdrew from the Democratic primary on Monday, saying he thought the party needed to unite behind Nikki Haley in place of front-runner Donald Trump. Hurd stated in a statement,” However, it has become apparent to me and my team that our campaign must be suspended.” While I appreciate all of our supporters’ time and effort, it’s crucial to understand the political landscape and the necessity of uniting our party behind a single candidate in order to defeat both President [ Joe ] Biden and Donald Trump.
He continued,” We will lose if the Republican party nominates Donald Trump or the various personalities jockeying to imitate his divisive, crass behavior.” When I first entered the Democratic presidential primary in June, I was aware that I would face many challenges along the way to victory. However, as I traveled the nation, I encountered a large number of Americans who shared my campaign’s message of unity.
