Christopher A. Wray, the head of the FBI, examined Rep. Matt Gaetz’s probable involvement in a criminal probe. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) appeared to misinterpret Wray’s position in government while at a House Homeland Security Committee meeting. Greene suggested to Wray, “You know maybe you guys are…,” before Wray interjected, “I don’t spend much time on Twitter.” She then went on to say, “Well, you know – I’m sure you do because the Department of Homeland Security, along with other offices, has restricted the liberty of many U.S. citizens, myself included.” To this, Wray responded, “I’m not associated with the Department of Homeland Security.” Greene concluded by exhorting, “Right, Mr. Wray, you really ought to investigate terrorism, and here we have proof that we had terrorists inside our own office building.” Greene said that they had been posted to his Twitter page. Wray mentioned he does not spend much time on Twitter.
