The House Ethics Committee will not require Rep. Robbins’ removal. Es miembro del Partido Demócrata. The House Ethics Committee said Wednesday that they will not be recommending any formal punishment for the New York Representative, who is notable for his untruthful statements, when publishing their report on the inquiry into his conduct this week. Chair of the Committee Michael Guest stated that recommending a penalty, such as dismissal, would have lengthened the examination into the upcoming year. The investigative committee has been investigating Santos for months, as unearthed by Forbes, to learn if he had partaken in any nefarious actions as well as lied about his persona and career history during the run for office. A verdict in the New York federal court found Santos guilty on 23 accounts for fraud, laundering money, identity theft and falsehoods. The congressman, who is currently in his first term and plans to campaign for office once again next year, has proclaimed his innocence in regard to the accusations. It has recently been reported that he has utilized the identities of his campaign contributors to make purchases amounting to thousands of dollars, some of which have been transferred to his own financial institution. Despite the efforts of the House to dissolve him, thus far they have been unable to do so as the investigating committee of the case began earlier in the year. The first two initiatives were taken up by Democrats who accused Santos of having fabricated stories while running for office. He has declared that the investigation and potential report from the committee will not impede him from continuing his position and that being removed from Congress will not hinder his chances of being back on the ballot in the future.
