International media should not be afraid to report the news themselves, instead of questioning it.
Foreign media should be free to report on Gaza’s news for themselves rather than questioning it. Global media should be free to report the news from Gaza for themselves rather than questioning it.

Within a span of fifty-one days, 526 minors from Gaza perished during Israel’s 2014 conflict, which was called “Operation Protective Edge.” I covered numerous accounts of those impacted, talking with surviving relatives including Alaa Balata. He was 17 years old on July 29th when an Israeli tank shell hit his home in the Jabalia camp, resulting in the death of all his siblings, his mom and dad. I encountered him while he was removing the plaster from the wall. The stories of Balata and the Bakr boys, as well as those reported by global media outlets from Gaza during the war, were not able to accurately convey the effect on children. However, when compared to Israel’s current mission of completely eradicating Hamas, Operation Protective Edge appears insignificant. Statistics show that within the first 25 days of the war, seven times the number of children have died, and with Israel’s ground assault beginning, the casualty figures will likely surge. Those of us who have witnessed the situation in Gaza among kids first-hand are unable to phrase what is currently transpiring in the blockaded area.
